“Valley of Giants” Walking Tour and Indian Petroglyphs

Following your visit to Stone Fort Ravine to view the Indian Petroglyphs we would then continue to the nearby Wingfield River Valley to start our specially designed looped trail where we Guide you on an interpretive experience among giant trees that tower over a spring fed stream there. The WIngfield River Valley is our island’s richest reservoir of biodiversity that is protected as a part of the 12500 hectares Central Forest Reserve National Park, and is alive with exotic birds, monkeys and mongoose. 

 
Initially we start our 2 hour walk following the banks of the crystal clear Wingfield River, a spring fed stream that receives in excess of 100,000 gallons of water a day, and following a looped track, we would eventually ascend 350 vertical feet to the top of a ridge, were you there are breathtaking views 1000 feet above sea level, of the area below.
 
As we walk on our pest free trail in the “Valley of Giants”, chances are you will be visited by our wild Monkeys at play in their natural habitat, up to three different types of Hummingbirds, the quick and furry Brown Mongoose,  exotic tree ferns and wild Cocoa Trees.
 
On returning to the Land Rover, we would offer you a delicious Caribbean picnic by the ruins of an old Sugar Mill and in the cool shade of trees there, ending our half days Rainforest walk and visit to a Pre-Colonial Petroglyph site.
